In January 2024, lead sculpture & mosaic artists Case Baumgarten and Denise Torrance designed and installed a large, twinkling, backlit mosaic depicting a vibrant underwater scene with two colorful octopi and a school of fish. We utilized recycled tile and found material including river rocks from the Appalachian Mountains, seashells, and broken pre- and post-colonial Native American, and colonial Old English pottery donated from the coastal Carolinas.
This project was commissioned in celebration of the 20 year anniversary of Dressler’s Restaurant refurbishing and reopening as Fin & Fino.
